Ingredients
  

Meat Sauce

  • 1 kg Ground meat
  • 1 medium Onion finely chopped
  • 3 medium Tomatoes peeled and chopped
  • 0.5 cup White wine
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 3 tablespoons Extra virgin olive oil

Pasta and Béchamel

  • 1 l Béchamel sauce
  • 1 kg Pasta for pastitsio
  • 1 cup Grated cheese

Preparation Steps

  • Heat the olive oil in a saucepan and sauté the ground meat and onion until golden. Add tomatoes, white wine, salt, and pepper, cover and cook over medium heat.
  • Cook the pasta in boiling salted water, stopping once it is al dente. Drain and set aside.
  • Grease a baking dish of approximately 25 x 35 x 5 cm and layer half of the pasta in it. Cover with the ground meat mixture.
  • Add the remaining pasta and top with béchamel sauce. Sprinkle grated cheese on top.
  • Bake in the oven at 180°C (Thermostat 6) for about 45 minutes, until the top is golden.
  • Let it rest for 20 minutes, then cut into squares.
