Meat Sauce
- 1 kg Ground meat
- 1 medium Onion finely chopped
- 3 medium Tomatoes peeled and chopped
- 0.5 cup White wine
- Salt
- Pepper
- 3 tablespoons Extra virgin olive oil
Pasta and Béchamel
- 1 l Béchamel sauce
- 1 kg Pasta for pastitsio
- 1 cup Grated cheese
Preparation Steps
Heat the olive oil in a saucepan and sauté the ground meat and onion until golden. Add tomatoes, white wine, salt, and pepper, cover and cook over medium heat.
Cook the pasta in boiling salted water, stopping once it is al dente. Drain and set aside.
Grease a baking dish of approximately 25 x 35 x 5 cm and layer half of the pasta in it. Cover with the ground meat mixture.
Add the remaining pasta and top with béchamel sauce. Sprinkle grated cheese on top.
Bake in the oven at 180°C (Thermostat 6) for about 45 minutes, until the top is golden.
Let it rest for 20 minutes, then cut into squares.
