Ingredients
  

Vegetables

  • 1 pound green beans
  • 1 pound carrots

Cooking Base

  • 1 cup chicken broth or vegetable broth for vegan option
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Seasoning

  • 1 tablespoon honey or use brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper

Cooking Instructions

  • In a large skillet or pot, bring enough salted water to cover your carrots and beans to a boil.
  • Add carrots and cook for 2 minutes.
  • Add beans and cook for another 2 minutes.
  • Drain in a colander and pat dry with a paper towel.
  • In a large skillet, add broth and butter, and bring to a boil.
  • Decrease the temperature to simmer, medium to medium low.
  • Add beans and carrots and continue simmering for 3 minutes uncovered to reduce the liquid.
  • Stir regularly and then add honey or brown sugar, salt, and pepper, stirring for a minute to coat.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

For only beans, reduce the initial cooking time by 2 minutes to avoid overcooking.
