- 3 day-old croissants halved
- 2 large eggs
- 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ cup whole milk
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- Zest of ½ lemon optional
- ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- vegetable oil for frying
- powdered sugar or vanilla sugar for dusting
In a bowl, whisk together eggs, sugar, vanilla extract, milk, salt, lemon zest, and cinnamon.
Dip each croissant half into the egg mixture, coating well.
Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Once hot, carefully fry croissant halves until golden brown on each side.
