- 4 slices stale slices of white bread or baguette, 1½ inches thick
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- Melted butter
If using white bread, use a 5-inch circle cutter to cut the bread into rounds. Thick bread works best for this recipe.
Whisk together milk, eggs, sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract in a medium bowl. Dip bread into the mixture until fully saturated.
