- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup milk
- ⅓ cup vegetable oil
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup pitted fresh or frozen cherries thawed
- ½ cup all-purpose flour for topping
- ⅓ cup brown sugar for topping
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon for topping
- ¼ cup cold unsalted butter diced for topping
