Main Ingredients
- 1.5 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs cut into 1-inch pieces
- 0.75 teaspoon kosher salt
- 0.25 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 0.25 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce or tamari
- 1.5 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 1.5 tablespoons olive oil divided
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- thinly sliced scallions for garnish (optional)
Cooking Instructions
Pat the chicken pieces dry with paper towels. Season with salt and pepper.
Whisk together honey, soy sauce, and apple cider vinegar in a small bowl.
Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook half the chicken until golden-brown, about 4 minutes, then flip and cook for an additional 2 minutes. Transfer to a plate.
Heat remaining olive oil and repeat cooking process with the rest of the chicken.
Return chicken and juices to the skillet. Stir in minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds. Increase heat, add the sauce, and cook until chicken is cooked through and sauce thickens.
Garnish with scallions if desired.
